What Does “In My Father’s House” Mean?
Years passed, and Jesus grew from a baby into a boy.
When Jesus was twelve years old, Mary and Joseph traveled with Him to Jerusalem for the Passover celebration. On their journey home, they realized Jesus wasn’t with their group.
Imagine how frightened they must have been.
Mary and Joseph searched for Him and eventually found Jesus at the Temple, sitting with the religious teachers, listening to them and asking questions. Everyone who heard Him was amazed by His understanding.
When Mary asked why He had stayed behind, Jesus answered in a way that revealed something important about who He was. He knew that God was His Father and that He belonged in His Father’s house.
But the story doesn’t end there.
Jesus returned home with Mary and Joseph and obeyed them. He continued to grow in wisdom and in favor with God and people.
Our Christmas Journey began with Jesus coming into the world as a baby. Now we see Him beginning to understand and reveal His purpose.
And just like Jesus grew, our journey with God keeps growing too.
Christmas isn’t the end of His story.
It’s only the beginning.
