What Does “Good News for All People” Mean?
The night Jesus was born, God had wonderful news to announce. But look at who He told first.
He didn’t send the angels to a palace. He didn’t begin with kings, rulers, or the most important people in town. God sent an angel to shepherds who were outside taking care of their sheep.
The shepherds were terrified when the angel appeared, but the angel told them not to be afraid. This was good news that would bring great joy to all people. The Savior had been born.
Then the night sky filled with angels praising God.
The shepherds didn’t keep the news to themselves. They hurried to Bethlehem, found Mary, Joseph, and Jesus, and saw that what God had told them was true. Afterward, they told other people what they had seen and heard.
Jesus didn’t come for only important people, wealthy people, grown-ups, or people who seem to have everything figured out.
He came for all people.
That means the good news of Jesus is for you, too.

Good News for All People reminds us that no one is left out of God’s invitation.
The shepherds heard the good news, went to see Jesus, and then shared what they had learned with others.
We can share the good news too—not only with our words, but through the way we love, encourage, help, and care for people.
For little ones, the whole story can be remembered in one simple sentence:
“Jesus came for everyone—including me!”
